How OHF Began and Where We’re Going

The Oklahoma Housing Foundation began through the Oklahoma Association of REALTORS® in 2006 as a down payment assistance non-profit. It was formed to promote the availability of affordable, adequate, safe and decent housing to the citizens of Oklahoma. OHF still supports this role through connecting Oklahomans with housing during times of widespread disaster, and also personal crisis and transition.

In early 2016, the Trustees of the Oklahoma Housing Foundation discovered the need to reevaluate our mission statement. We worked with Advocacy Insights to develop a new strategic plan in April, and came up with a comprehensive report outlining “a renewed identity.”

Our new mission reads: Connecting Oklahomans in crisis with housing by supporting local associations and empowering individual members across the state to meet the needs of their communities.

And our main strategic goal: To support and connect Oklahomans in crisis with housing during times of natural disaster and transitions of life.

OHF’s three main objectives are:

Implement an ongoing fundraising program
Create partnerships with community outreach organizations
Be the online resource to connect Oklahomans in need with housing solutions
